Elevate your health and wellness

Traditional wood-burning sauna is practiced in thermic cycles of heating, cooling, and resting/rehydrating for maximum health benefits and a full mind/body/spirit rejuvenation.

Benefits of Thermal Contrast Therapy

  • Warm up in one of our beautiful wood-burning saunas designed and handcrafted in Central Oregon. Allow the heat and steam to penetrate deeply, awakening your mind, body, and spirit. The heat creates an adaptive response to hermetic stress that research has shown to produce numerous health benefits.

    - Increase mood and happiness

    - Reduce stress and tension

    - Reduce Inflammation in the body

    - Nervous System Regulation

    - Boost immunity

    - Detoxification

    - Reduce acute and chronic pain

    - Improve heart and cardiovascular health

    - Increase metabolism

    - Prevent lifestyle disease

    - Decrease all-cause mortality

    - Improved sleep

    - Increase your fitness level

    - Increase workout recovery

    - Improve lung function and lower risk of infections

Research indicates 15-20 minutes in the sauna is optimal per thermic cycle repetition.

  • Safely immerse yourself in our cold plunge pools, cold shower, and/or a nearby natural body of water. Challenge yourself to overcome any self-limiting beliefs and allow yourself the chance to regulate your nervous system with slow, deep breaths while your body adapts to the cold. The transition from hot to cold is a magical experience with many science-backed health benefits.

    - Create better resilience

    - Reduce stress and anxiety

    - Nervous system regulation

    - Optimize vascular system

    - Enhance Thermogenesis

    - Flush lymphastic system

    - Increased and sustained release of happy hormones - dopamine and norepinephrine

    - Improve mood and happiness

    - Increase metabolism

    - Increase insulin sensitivity

    - Increase longevity of cells

    - Increase brown fat

    - reduce inflammation

    - Cold adaptation - feel warmer in cold temperatures

    - Reduce acute and chronic pain

The duration of time spent in the cold plunge is based entirely on personal preference and past experience with cold water immersion. While research indicates that 3-4 minutes of full body immersion up to the neck is optimal, health benefits can be realized with even a quick dip.

  • The rest phase of the Gather Reset thermic cycle is our favorite step. It’s a time to really let the experience and all the work that your body just did in the heat and cold wash over you while you settle into a deep relaxation. Take time to check in with your body and notice the difference you feel. This is time for stillness, breathe, presence, and deep connection with nature, community, self. The benefits of the rest cycles include:

    - Reduce Stress

    - Lower anxiety

    - Promote emotional health

    - Promote social connection

    - Enhance self-awareness

  • Centuries of tradition as well as modern research show that repeating this thermic cycle three to five times maximizes health benefits and will leave your mind, body, and spirt feeling refreshed and reinvigorated.

    - Longer cumulative exposure to heat & cold temperatures

    - Multiple contrasts act like a pump for the Lymphatic System - increasing detox and immunity

    - Deeper level of relaxation achieved

    - Push beyond your comfort zone to unlock your greatest potential
